RE-VISIONS international photography residency in Cyprus set for September 2026
The RE-VISIONS artistic residency programme for contemporary photography will take place in Cyprus from September 19 to 27, 2026. Jointly organized by Actus Anima and the French Institute of Cyprus, the residency features five photographers and visual artists from Egypt, Cyprus, France, and Greece. Curated by Io Paschou, the programme explores Cyprus as an active agent in shaping history through engagement with memory, identity, and the island's shifting temporal landscape.
Rooted in the Bicentenary of Photography initiative by the French Ministry of Culture, the residency aims to strengthen international creative networks and promote new aesthetic approaches to photography while contributing to the appreciation of Cyprus's cultural heritage. Based in the village of Malounta, the residency provides a space for artistic experimentation and intercultural dialogue linking contemporary art with Cyprus's history and landscape.
Following the residency, the artists’ works will be exhibited at Garage Art Space in Nicosia from November 25 to December 6, 2026. This exhibition will serve as a starting point for a traveling show across France, Greece, and the broader Mediterranean in 2027, extending the collaborative dialogue fostered by RE-VISIONS.
