Cyprus Police Conduct Night Operations Resulting in 10 Arrests and 157 Speeding Fines

The Cyprus Police intensified their presence across the island during the previous night, conducting organized patrols in key urban areas to prevent serious crimes and ensure public order. These operations led to the arrest of ten individuals for offenses including vehicle theft, receiving stolen goods, theft, and traffic violations.

During the night, authorities stopped 596 vehicles and checked 901 people, while also inspecting 47 premises to tackle criminal activities, resulting in seven reports. Traffic-related offenses were prominent, with 363 citations issued, including 157 for speeding. Additionally, eight vehicles were impounded, and 15 drivers were reported for exceeding alcohol limits, following 233 breathalyzer tests. Two positive drug tests were recorded from five preliminary narcotics checks.

The police confirm that these preventive and enforcement actions will continue daily with increased presence and targeted checks aimed at enhancing citizens' safety and maintaining public order throughout Cyprus.
