Large Refugee Family of 12 Travels Together on Ferry from Limassol to Piraeus

A special family of 12, including ten children, recently made headlines while traveling together on the passenger ship AF Marina from Limassol to Piraeus. The Konstantinou family, led by parents Christina and Dimitris, both 41, are refugees living in Nicosia and are known for their coordinated outfits featuring notable Greek landmarks and numbered shirts for each child.

This marked the first time all ten children travelled as a group, ranging in age from 12 years to six months. Despite the challenges of managing such a large family during travel, fellow passengers were largely understanding. Christina and Dimitris emphasize that raising ten children involves significant effort, expenses, and careful planning, but their close family bond and faith help them navigate daily life.

Dimitris, a livestock farmer by choice, urges the state to provide better support for large families and couples planning to grow their households. Christina calls for equal treatment and access to benefits, highlighting the financial difficulties but also the joy and teamwork that define their family's life.
