Israel ranks Cyprus among lowest risk countries for travel during Jewish holidays

Cyprus is considered one of the lowest risk destinations for Israeli travelers amid the upcoming Jewish holidays, according to a recent assessment by Israel’s National Security Council. The island, along with Greece, the U.S., Italy, and the UAE, remains popular and free of special travel warnings. Although there are no changes to existing advisories, the Council urges enhanced vigilance during travel.

The highest risks persist in countries near Iran, including Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the UAE. Jordan, Qatar, Somaliland, and Egypt, including Sinai, are rated level 4, and travel there is discouraged. The advisory urges travelers to avoid visible Israeli or Jewish symbols, refrain from posting real-time location info, and conceal military service details on social media.

Iran and its allied organizations continue to pose the main global terrorist threat against Israeli and Jewish targets, according to the assessment.
