Fire in Liopetri Residence Caused by Minor's Carelessness
A fire broke out on Thursday at 4:24 pm in an auxiliary building at a residence in Liopetri and was brought under control by 4:53 pm, according to the fire service. Firefighters from Famagusta and Xylofagou responded quickly with two fire engines, limiting the damage to the building and its contents from fire and heat.
The property owner became unwell while attempting to extinguish the fire and was treated by ambulance personnel on site but did not require hospital treatment. An investigation conducted by the fire service and police revealed that the fire was allegedly caused by the careless actions of a minor.
Authorities continue to stress the importance of fire safety, especially around minors, to prevent such dangerous incidents in the future.
