Cyprus Q2 2026 turnover shows strong growth in professional services, decline in accommodation and administrative support
Turnover in Cyprus' services and transport sectors showed mixed results in the second quarter of 2026, with professional, scientific, and technical activities leading growth with a 3.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Transport and storage, information and communication, and real estate activities also posted gains, rising by 2.1%, 2.1%, and 1.6% respectively.
In contrast, accommodation and food service activities declined by 3.1%, driven primarily by a 10.1% fall in accommodation turnover, despite a 4.5% increase in food and beverage services. Administrative and support service activities also dropped by 2.2%, with travel agency and related services experiencing the sharpest decline of 13.8%.
For the first half of 2026, professional services remained the strongest performer with a 3.5% rise, while transport and storage increased by 2.8%. Accommodation and food services saw a smaller overall decline of 0.7%. The data highlight a sectoral shift, with professional services expanding amid challenges in accommodation and administrative support areas.
