Bank of Cyprus Holdings and the Bank of Cyprus announced the appointment of Elisabet Pinilla Guell as an independent non-executive director, with the approval of the European Central Bank. The appointment extends to the board of directors of Bank of Cyprus Holdings, effective immediately.
Pinilla brings over 30 years of technology leadership experience in banking and insurance. She currently serves as head of technology and operations at Santander UK and Cater Allen, holding key roles including chief operations function and membership in several executive committees.
Her career includes senior positions at Banco Santander Group and AXA, with expertise in digital transformation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and risk oversight. Pinilla holds advanced degrees in computer science, banking and financial operations, and business administration, and has completed executive studies at MIT Sloan School of Management.
