Nine Arrested During Nationwide Police Operations Targeting Crime and Traffic Violations
Cyprus Police conducted extensive patrols across the country last night, aiming to prevent serious criminal activities and enhance public safety. The coordinated operations resulted in nine arrests for offenses including illegal possession of property, theft, assault on an officer, and drug possession.
Authorities stopped and checked 547 drivers and 185 passengers, while also inspecting 34 premises where one complaint was filed. Traffic enforcement actions led to 332 citations for various violations, with 128 for speeding. Additionally, eight driving-under-the-influence cases were reported from 188 alcohol checks.
The police continue these intensified policing efforts daily, focusing on crime prevention and maintaining public order to boost citizens' sense of security and protect the community.
