The Limassol Municipal Arts Centre – Apothikes Papadaki inaugurates a new exhibition titled "Nikos Kouroussis: labyrinths" on September 4. This survey exhibition showcases the diverse body of work by Nikos Kouroussis, featuring painting, video, functional sculpture, installations, archival materials, and film footage. The exhibition runs until October 4 and highlights recurring motifs and thematic cycles throughout Kouroussis’ career instead of a linear narrative.
The exhibition centers on Kouroussis’ exploration of sculptural forms, space, imagery, and technology, reflecting his adaptation to digital advancements in artistic creation. Key works include pieces from his labyrinth, rainbow, metamorphosis, Icarus series, and functional sculptures, alongside a new commission revisiting his 1970 labyrinth work. Visitors can engage further through a parallel programme comprising workshops, guided tours, and a book launch.
Opening events feature the catalogue raisonné launch and speeches by notable figures including Limassol mayor Yiannis Armeftis. Additional activities include museum tours, creative workshops for various age groups, and a discussion on the exhibition book. Admission is free, with events held Wednesday to Sunday throughout the exhibition period.
