IKEA Cyprus announces price cuts to support customers amid rising living costs
IKEA Cyprus is joining a Europe-wide wave of price reductions aimed at easing the financial burden on consumers amid rising housing costs and squeezed household budgets. The price cuts are part of a €1.2 billion investment by IKEA retailers across Europe to attract customers after two years of declining revenue.
In Cyprus, the IKEA franchisee Housemarket, which also operates stores in Greece and Bulgaria, has agreed to implement the price cuts. Cyprus has one full IKEA store in Nicosia and a second plan and order point in Limassol.
IKEA’s efforts to lower prices include redesigning products, automation, and the use of renewable energy to reduce costs, such as a 70 percent packaging cost cut for its Pax wardrobe range. The retailer has also opened several smaller city-center stores in Europe to reach more customers beyond its traditional locations.
