Eurobank issues over 6.55 million new shares after stock options exercise by management and staff
Eurobank announced the issuance of more than 6.55 million new ordinary voting shares following the exercise of stock options by 231 members of its management and staff. The stock options were exercised between July 23 and August 3 as part of the bank’s eighth stock option plan, originally established in 2020. The new shares, each with a nominal value of €0.22 and an exercise price of €0.23, will soon be admitted for trading on Euronext Athens.
The total cash amount paid for the shares was approximately €1.51 million, with Eurobank’s board approving the corresponding increase in share capital by €1.44 million on August 28, 2026. Following the capital raise, the bank’s total share capital now stands at €794.19 million divided into over 3.6 billion ordinary shares. The exercise of these options aims to align employees’ interests with the bank’s long-term performance and retain key personnel.
Eurobank will finalize the necessary procedures for the shares to begin trading and credited to beneficiaries’ accounts through Greece’s Dematerialised Securities System. The bank plans to announce the exact date of admission to trading at a later time.
