The redevelopment of Pattichion Park, Larnaca's largest green space, has been completed and officially handed over to the Larnaca Municipality. The project, which began in October 2023 with a €5.3 million budget co-financed by the European Union, was delayed by about eight months due to summer fire risk restrictions. The upgraded park now features a large elevated bridge, viewing points of the protected Larnaca Salt Lake, a children's playground, botanical garden, outdoor gym, picnic areas, a dog park, and a large restaurant with a rooftop terrace.

Despite the enhancements, the project faced public opposition concerning the scale of construction, particularly within the Natura network area. Some controversial elements include the size of the restaurant, a car park among trees, and the initial planting of non-native species like banana trees, which the municipality plans to replace with native plants following environmental guidelines. Littering issues have also been reported in parts of the park.

Mayor Andreas Vyras expressed satisfaction with the project's completion and highlighted plans to plant over 100 pine and cypress trees to further enhance the park. The café and restaurant facilities are expected to open by the end of the year, aiming to increase visitor numbers and encourage protection of the salt lake by reducing foot traffic through sensitive areas during summer.
