Romanian national remanded for burglaries in Androlykou and Argaka
A 44-year-old Romanian man has been remanded in custody for two days by the Paphos district court over a series of burglaries in the villages of Androlykou and Argaka. Authorities allege his involvement in thefts and malicious damage reported last year, including a major break-in on March 2, 2025, in Androlykou where equipment worth approximately €225,000 was stolen. DNA evidence was collected from the crime scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
The suspect is also reportedly linked to thefts involving generators and other items valued at around €2,000 in Argaka. Police have recovered various items from both locations and submitted them for forensic examination. The court learned that the investigation is continuing and expects to take additional statements.
During the court appearance, the suspect did not object to his detention but raised concerns about detention conditions, noting overcrowding in his cell. He appeared without legal representation. Paphos CID continues to investigate the case.
