High temperatures and humidity to persist in Cyprus until Wednesday

Cyprus is set to experience continued high temperatures and increased humidity at least until Wednesday, according to Meteorological Officer Matthaios Papadakis. A yellow weather warning has been issued, with inland areas expected to reach temperatures around 40C. Coastal regions may feel particularly uncomfortable due to elevated humidity levels.

Papadakis noted that while temperatures in Nicosia will hover near 40C, the combination of heat and humidity along the coast will make conditions difficult. Although there is a possibility of the heatwave intensifying, temperatures are expected to remain consistent over the next few days, similar to early August but slightly above normal.

The weather is forecast to stay mostly clear throughout the period, with no significant changes expected before Wednesday. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to provide timely updates on any development.
