Customs seize 48 THC vaping devices disguised as children's toys at Larnaca Airport
Customs officers at Larnaca Airport intercepted a package from the United States containing 48 vaping devices labelled as containing high levels of THC and CBD, which were falsely declared as children's toys. The 4.2kg parcel, inspected on 5 August at the Post Office Parcel Exchange, was flagged by the Customs Risk Management System. Instead of cartoon-themed cards as declared, the packages contained flavored vaping devices with 89% THC concentration.
The Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) was immediately notified and took possession of the seized items. Following the operation, YKAN officers arrested a suspect in the Nicosia district believed to be the intended recipient of the parcel. The investigation into the case is ongoing, with authorities focusing on uncovering further details related to the shipment and distribution.
