Police Arrest Nine in Overnight Crime Prevention Patrols Across Cyprus
Cyprus police conducted coordinated overnight patrols across key urban areas, resulting in nine arrests related to various offenses including break-ins, public intoxication, and driving under the influence. The operations involved screening 871 individuals and inspecting 57 premises to deter criminal activity.
Additionally, traffic enforcement led to 353 citations, with 79 for speeding and 25 for DUI. Police also impounded 21 vehicles and investigated 18 cases, including three suspected drugged driving incidents. A total of 620 vehicles were stopped for checks.
Authorities emphasized that these preventive patrols will continue daily, aiming to maintain public order, enhance residents' security, and provide rapid responses to criminal activity.
