Police conduct over 990 checks with two arrests and ten vehicles detained across Cyprus
The Cyprus Police carried out extensive operations last night, performing 993 checks on citizens and premises nationwide. These organized patrols focused on preventing serious crimes, maintaining public order, and enhancing community safety. During the operations, two individuals were arrested for illegal stay, intoxication, and related offenses.
Authorities stopped and inspected 682 vehicles and 952 passengers, resulting in 368 traffic citations, including 161 for speeding. Ten vehicles were also detained. Additionally, 200 breathalyzer tests led to six violations, and one preliminary drug test yielded a positive result. The police conducted 41 premise checks, finding one violation.
These ongoing preventive police actions involve increased presence and targeted inspections aimed at crime suppression and public protection throughout Cyprus.
