Cyprus featured in international video promoting Vision Zero workplace safety strategy
Cyprus has been showcased in a new international video by the International Social Security Association’s Construction Section (ISSA-C), highlighting the island's role in promoting workplace safety through the global Vision Zero strategy. The video emphasizes Cyprus' implementation of the Vision Zero campaign and its Seven Golden Rules, particularly the importance of leadership commitment in creating safer work environments.
The Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (Etek) stated that the video combines Cypriot examples with case studies from other countries, illustrating practical applications of the international safety strategy. Etek president Constantinos Constanti introduces the video, stressing the crucial role architects and engineers play in ensuring health and safety across all stages of project life cycles, while highlighting that responsibility extends beyond regulatory compliance to protecting life and wellbeing.
The video was first officially screened at the "From Risk to Resilience: Achieving Vision Zero with AI and Sustainable Construction" conference held in Limassol in July 2026. Organised by ISSA-C in collaboration with various Cypriot engineering and safety bodies, the event gathered international experts to discuss occupational safety, AI, and sustainable construction. Etek is an official partner of the Vision Zero campaign, which aligns with the European Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work 2023-2027.
