A 31-year-old man who stabbed a 22-year-old woman multiple times at a supermarket in northern Nicosia on Monday was remanded in custody for a day by a local court. The victim, Zhanerke Abdrazakova, remains in critical condition in intensive care at Dr Burhan Nalbantoglu Hospital, suffering from multiple organ injuries and significant blood loss. Hospital authorities have stated her life is still in danger.
The suspect has a history of previous visits to Cyprus, entering via Turkey.
