Christos Senekis sworn in as Agriculture Minister pledges tangible results

Christos Senekis was sworn in as the new Agriculture Minister on Thursday during a cabinet reshuffle by President Nikos Christodoulides. Senekis pledged to deliver tangible results and build on the work of his predecessor, Maria Panayiotou. He acknowledged the heavy responsibility resting on the new government members and committed to implementing the president's programme fully.

Senekis paid tribute to outgoing ministers, highlighting their valuable legacies, and promised that the new ministers would work diligently to uphold government policy and defend public interests. He expressed his ambition to meet public expectations and leave a substantial positive impact.

Taking over following Panayiotou’s two-and-a-half-year tenure marked by challenges such as the foot and mouth disease outbreak and criticism over wildfire management, Senekis brings experience as a former Diko MP, lawyer, international relations graduate, computer scientist, and former director of the parliamentary press office.
