Frederick Institute of Technology launches accredited three-year Paramedic programme in Cyprus

Frederick Institute of Technology (FIT) has introduced a new three-year Paramedic – Ambulance Crew programme, accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA). This programme is the first of its kind in Cyprus, developed to align with recent legislation regulating the paramedic profession and to meet the growing needs of the healthcare system for skilled emergency pre-hospital care professionals.

Building on the success of the previous two-year programme, which trained over 120 healthcare workers, the extended three-year course enhances theoretical, laboratory, and clinical training. Graduates will receive a Higher Diploma, qualifying them for careers in emergency pre-hospital care across public and private sectors.

The programme begins in October 2026 at FIT's Nicosia campus and responds directly to new legislation requiring ambulance crew members to hold a recognised qualification. FIT emphasizes its commitment to supporting Cyprus's healthcare sector and addressing personnel shortages through innovative education.
