Cyprus Team Wins Third Place at Europe’s Largest Youth Entrepreneurship Festival GEN-E
Ten teenagers from St. Mary’s School in Limassol proudly secured third place representing Cyprus in the European Competition for the Best Student Company at GEN-E 2026, Europe’s largest celebration of youth entrepreneurship. Their innovative project, HerShield, features a discreet lip gloss-shaped case with test strips to detect harmful substances in drinks, aimed at enhancing women’s safety.
The students traveled to Riga, Latvia, carrying not only their business idea but also the hopes of their families and country. The achievement was celebrated as a moment of profound pride and inspiration, highlighting the determination and creativity of Cyprus’s youth.
Konstantina Logotheti, Director of the PwC Foundation and Chairwoman of Junior Achievement Cyprus, praised the team’s innovation and urged more young people to join the Junior Achievement Company Programme. She emphasized the invaluable experience and life lessons gained, beyond just the competition’s prizes.
