Larnaca court adjourns case against four accused in alleged criminal syndicate until September 18
Proceedings against four defendants accused of involvement in an alleged criminal syndicate in Larnaca have been adjourned, with the next hearing scheduled for September 18. The Larnaca permanent criminal court postponed the case, which involves charges related to alleged organised criminal activity including extortion, threats, financial exploitation, and money laundering.
The defendants, aged 42, 44, 45, and 49, were set to face trial, but the court also reserved its decision on an objection filed by the 44-year-old defendant against their continued detention, with a ruling expected on Thursday. The court noted that the 45-year-old woman and 42-year-old man had previously been released on bail, while the 49-year-old remains in custody due to separate cases awaiting trial in the same court.
