Cyprus Construction Material Prices Rise 3.33% in July Led by Electrical Fixtures and Metals
Construction material prices in Cyprus continued to increase in July, with the price index reaching 123.00 units, up 0.23% from June and 3.33% higher than in July 2025. The rise was driven primarily by sharp annual gains in electrical fixtures, plastics, and aluminium products, according to data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat).
Metallic products saw the largest yearly increase among main categories, rising 4.94%, with aluminium and other metals up 6.14%. Electrical fixtures, a key component of electromechanical products, recorded a 6.61% annual increase, contributing significantly to the overall rise. Other categories, including wood, plastics, and chemical products also experienced notable price hikes.
Over the first seven months of 2026, construction material prices averaged 1.87% higher than the same period last year. Despite slight monthly declines in some subcategories like iron and steel, the overall trend points to steadily rising costs across a broad range of construction inputs, impacting building and development sectors across Cyprus.
