Cyprus Hosts Multinational Naval Exercise with Greece, Germany, Italy, and the US
Warships from Cyprus, Greece, Germany, Italy, and the United States conducted a multinational naval exercise named "Cyprus Arrow" in waters south of Limassol. The drill included tactical movements, advanced maneuvers, technical exercises, and communication drills to enhance coordination among the fleets. The exercise was part of broader naval operations in the Levant region.
Participating vessels included Cyprus’s offshore patrol vessel Ioannides, the Greek frigate Nikiforos Fokas, the American destroyer Paul Ignatius, the Italian frigate Carabiniere, and the German frigate Baden-Wurttemberg. The cooperation tested the interoperability of these NATO and partner forces at a multinational level.
On the same day, a bilateral exercise named PASSEX was held between Cyprus’s naval command and the Italian navy, involving Ioannides and Carabiniere. The drill focused on communication, vessel identification, reconnaissance, and mutual boarding operations to strengthen bilateral naval cooperation.
