DP World Limassol completes annual internship programme training four maritime students
DP World Limassol has successfully completed its annual two-month internship programme, offering four undergraduate students hands-on experience in port operations and the maritime sector. Now in its sixth year, the initiative provided students from Cyprus University of Technology and Frederick University the opportunity to work alongside company teams and contribute to real projects.
The programme aims to enhance students' practical and technical skills by exposing them to the workings of a modern port. Since its inception in 2020, over 30 students have participated, with 10 securing positions at DP World Limassol across various departments. The company sees the internship as a means of nurturing local talent and building a sustainable workforce for Cyprus’ maritime industry.
DP World Limassol CEO Simon Pitout emphasized the importance of supporting young professionals, noting that the programme helps bridge academic knowledge with practical experience. Applications for the next intake open in April, with preference given to students from partnered universities, while others may also apply by submitting a CV and cover letter.
