Nicosia Municipal Theatre hosts free summer series with film screenings and entertainment
Nicosia Municipal Theatre has launched a free monthly event series titled 'On the Side,' taking place every last Sunday from June 28 through August. The theatre's outdoor and garden areas transform into an open-air summer venue featuring cocktails, music, stand-up comedy, and film screenings. As part of this series, special screenings will be held on August 29 and 30 in collaboration with the Lemesos International Documentary Festival.
On August 29, the documentary 'The Oligarch and the Art Dealer,' directed by Andreas Dalsgaard, will be shown. This 118-minute film explores a high-profile dispute involving Swiss art dealer Yves Bouvier and Russian businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev over alleged fraud worth billions of dollars. The following day, August 30, attendees can watch 'Still Pushing Pineapples,' a 92-minute UK documentary directed by Kim Hopkins that follows a faded pop star's efforts to revive his career amidst British working-class culture. Both events offer free admission along with an outdoor bar serving drinks from 7pm to 11pm.
