Euroseas secures over 95% of fleet days through 2026, strengthens long-term revenue with Cyprus-flagged vessels
Euroseas has secured contracts covering more than 95% of its available fleet days for the remainder of 2026, providing significant protection against fluctuations in containership rates. The Nasdaq-listed company’s forward coverage remains strong at 81% for 2027 and 47% for 2028, ensuring greater cash flow stability over the next two and a half years. Notably, two of its Cyprus-flagged vessels, Synergy Oakland and Synergy Keelung, are chartered at $33,500 and $35,500 per day respectively, with contracts extending to 2028 and 2029.
The company reported a profitable second quarter with a net profit of $33.2 million, up from $29.9 million a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA increasing to $40.1 million. Revenue declined slightly due to a reduced fleet size but was offset by higher charter rates and lower drydocking expenses. Chairman Aristides Pittas highlighted this period as one of the most profitable in fifteen years.
Euroseas is also advancing its newbuilding program, focusing on smaller containerships with deliveries planned between late 2027 and early 2029. Four new vessels already have employment contracts through 2031 and 2032, further extending the company's contracted earnings. The company continues to balance fleet expansion with market risks and maintained its dividend while repurchasing shares totaling $11.36 million.
