Paphos Municipality completes major road resurfacing programme addressing long-standing issues
Paphos Municipality has finished a comprehensive road resurfacing and infrastructure upgrade program targeting central and heavily used routes. The works, carried out over two to three months, addressed roads riddled with potholes and damage that had impaired traffic flow and vehicle safety for years.
Key stretches, including Petridia Avenue—from the Viofos junction to Emba Avenue—have been completely resurfaced with new road markings. This route is vital, serving western Paphos, northern communities like Tala, and connecting to the town centre and the Paphos-Limassol motorway. Other important areas such as Anavargos avenue and the vicinity of the local hospital also benefited from the renovations.
Acting Mayor Angelos Onisiforou emphasized the continuing efforts to cover all remaining problematic roads, highlighting both the significance for the town's image and the safety of motorists. The initiative comes in response to numerous resident complaints about deteriorated road conditions, marking a crucial step toward improved urban infrastructure in Paphos.
