Fire damages abandoned house in Limassol; suspected arson under investigation
Firefighters responded promptly to a blaze at an abandoned house in the Agia Zoni area of Limassol on Sunday night, with the fire being brought under control within 16 minutes. The Fire Service received the emergency call at 9:42 pm, dispatching two fire engines from the Agios Ioannis “Sergeant Vasilis Krokos” Fire Station.
The fire caused extensive damage to the contents of the abandoned property and also affected part of the pergola roof of a neighbouring house due to the heat and flames. Preliminary investigations by the Fire Service indicate that the fire was likely started deliberately, pointing to possible arson. Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fire.
