Nicosia's August Music Scene Shines with Free and Ticketed Live Performances
August in Nicosia offers a vibrant mix of live music events despite the city’s quieter inland atmosphere. On August 19, the Sonare Flute & Piano Duo will perform free concerts at Eleftheria Square as part of the Summer Nights 2026 Festival, featuring premieres of works by Cypriot composers and international pieces. Jazz enthusiasts can look forward to August 20 at Sarah’s Jazz Club, where renowned guitarist Ofer Ganor teams up with local musicians Irenaeos Koullouras, Marios Toumbas, and Ioannis Vafeas to open the club’s eleventh season. The following days include performances by local blues band Backdoor Blues on August 21, and a jazz concert featuring American guitarist Dion Berardo and Alexis Kasinos Group on August 23.
Later in the month, the Summer Nights Festival continues with “A Magical City,” a nostalgic musical journey by Kaiti Oikonomide, Alexandros Foka, and Panagiotis Kleitou at To Skali cultural centre on August 29.
