Eight arrests and 236 traffic violations reported during targeted police operations across Cyprus
Cyprus police conducted extensive targeted patrols throughout the country last night, resulting in eight arrests and 236 traffic violation reports. The operations aimed to prevent serious crimes, ensure public order, and enhance community safety. Authorities stopped 586 vehicles and checked 863 individuals during the night.
The arrests involved offenses including assault and injury, burglary, illegal possession of property, unlawful stay in Cyprus, and traffic violations such as driving under the influence of alcohol. Traffic-related fines included 84 for speeding and 16 for driving under alcohol influence; one case involved driving under the influence of drugs following preliminary narcotic tests.
Additionally, 46 premises were inspected, leading to seven complaints, and 22 vehicles were seized during the police checks. These enforcement efforts are ongoing with increased police presence and targeted inspections to protect citizens and maintain public order.
