Unstable weather brings scattered showers, thunderstorms, and possible hail across Cyprus today
Cyprus is experiencing unstable weather today due to a seasonal low-pressure system, resulting in scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms, and potential hail, especially during the afternoon. The most affected areas include inland regions, the eastern districts, and the Troodos mountains, where heavy storms could bring hail.
Cloud cover will increase intermittently across the island, with winds initially light to moderate from the southwest to northwest, strengthening locally along the coast later in the day. Temperatures are expected to peak at 37°C inland, 34°C along much of the coast, 30°C on the west coast, and 26°C in the higher mountains.
Overnight, cloud cover will rise again, leading to local shallow fog and mist in early morning hours. Winds will remain light to moderate, with temperatures dropping to around 23°C inland, 24°C along the coast, and 19°C in the mountainous areas. Sea conditions are expected to remain smooth to slight throughout.
