21-year-old remanded after cannabis and cash found during moped stop in Nicosia
A 21-year-old man was remanded in custody for three days following a police stop on a moped in Nicosia. Officers stopped the moped on Aeschylou Street at around 3:40 pm on Friday and discovered the man was driving without a license or insurance, with the vehicle lacking a valid MOT certificate and road tax. During the search, authorities found approximately 40 grams of cannabis on the moped.
Subsequent searches of two residences linked to the suspect uncovered €8,800 in cash, an additional 45 grams of cannabis, 5 grams of cannabis resin, a digital precision scale, and three mobile phones.
