A 36-year-old man was arrested at Larnaca airport after customs officers, acting on a tip from the police drug squad, discovered approximately 23 kilograms of dried cannabis in his luggage. The man, a third-country national, was stopped and searched upon his arrival in Cyprus. Officers found 42 black plastic packages containing the drugs. The seized cannabis and the arrest are part of continuous efforts by the drug squad and customs to intercept illegal drugs entering Cyprus. The man was taken into custody following the seizure.
