Police arrest 20 in nationwide overnight operations with hundreds of driver checks and premises inspections
Police conducted extensive overnight operations across the country, resulting in 20 arrests for offences such as illegal residence, possession of a knife, drug possession, and burglary. During the operations, 598 drivers and 204 passengers were stopped and checked, while 28 premises were inspected.
Traffic police issued 201 violations and opened investigations into 15 new cases. Following 350 breathalyser tests, authorities recorded 70 speeding offences and 29 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, one driver was reported for drug-impaired driving. A total of 29 vehicles were impounded as part of the crackdown.
