Cyprus workplace safety practices are featured prominently in a new international video released by the International Social Security Association’s Construction Section (ISSA-C) as part of the global Vision Zero campaign focused on safety, health, and wellbeing. The video showcases Cyprus’ contribution to improving occupational safety, particularly emphasizing the importance of leadership commitment in creating safer work environments.
The video, which was first screened at an international conference in Limassol in July 2026, highlights Cyprus’ role in the campaign’s first Golden Rule: "Take the lead – demonstrate commitment." ETEK, the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber, explains that senior management involvement is crucial to achieving zero workplace accidents. The video also underscores the key role architects and engineers play in ensuring safety throughout project lifecycles.
The conference, organised jointly by ISSA-C, ISHCCO, ETEK, and the Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers, celebrated Cyprus' active involvement in promoting Vision Zero internationally. ETEK urged stakeholders across sectors to adopt the seven Golden Rules as part of a broader effort to enhance workplace safety and health in line with the European Strategic Framework 2023-2027.
