Neofytos Thrasyvoulou, head of the Association of Entertainment Venues (Osika), highlighted that despite rising costs for raw materials, establishments are encouraged to maintain high-quality service and affordable pricing. Typical prices for a meal range from €20 to €35 depending on the dish, with locals favoring traditional meze and grilled meats, while European visitors prefer hamburgers, salads, and sandwiches.
Additionally, there is an industry appeal to ease hiring restrictions on non-EU workers in the catering sector. Leisure trends show Cypriots spending more time at seaside venues and taking short mountain excursions to destinations like Kakopetria and Platres, often enjoying local cuisine during these outings.
