Health services spokesperson Charalambos Charilaou confirmed that rising cases of heatstroke, heat exhaustion, and sunburns are being treated at emergency rooms, primarily affecting vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and those with heart or respiratory conditions.
Patients with heat exhaustion are often treated on site and discharged without hospital admission. Charilaou emphasized that emergency rooms and ambulance services are adequately staffed with doctors and healthcare personnel to handle all types of emergencies, including accidents, strokes, and heart attacks.
