Goldman Sachs forecasts €220 million interim dividend from National Bank of Greece in Q3

Goldman Sachs anticipates the National Bank of Greece will distribute an interim dividend of around €220 million in the third quarter, despite the bank's management neither confirming nor denying the payout. This forecast follows the bank’s second-quarter results, reflecting its ongoing policy to increase shareholder capital returns.

The US investment bank has projected a steady rise in dividends, estimating a payout of €0.59 per share in 2026, increasing to €0.76 in 2027 and €0.90 in 2028. Goldman also revised earnings per share forecasts downward slightly for the coming years but acknowledged the bank’s robust revenue growth and credit expansion.

Goldman Sachs expects the National Bank of Greece to maintain a strong capital position, with a CET1 ratio forecasted at 17.2% by the end of 2026. The bank is viewed as the best-capitalised in Greece’s banking sector, poised to balance higher distributions with prudent capital buffers for potential strategic opportunities.
