Cleaner arrested at Paphos hotel for stealing jewellery worth €1,000
Police arrested a cleaner at a Paphos hotel on Wednesday night after she was found responsible for stealing two pieces of jewellery valued at approximately €1,000 from a guest's room. The theft was reported following a complaint by the hotel management after a hotel guest noticed her jewellery was missing.
Investigations revealed that the cleaner had access to an entry card that opened multiple rooms in the hotel, including rooms outside her assigned cleaning area. Upon questioning, the cleaner admitted to entering the guest’s room and taking the jewellery. She was detained under a court warrant and is being held in custody.
The suspect is scheduled to face charges before the Paphos District Court on Thursday and will be summoned to appear at a later date.
