Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias Hosts 9th Fig and Halidji Cheese Festival on August 20
August 20 will mark the 9th Fig and Halidji Cheese Festival in Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias, celebrating the village's famed summer figs and traditional halidji cheese. The event, starting at 7pm in the Elementary School stadium, offers visitors a chance to enjoy local produce, Cypriot food, drinks, and live entertainment.
The festival features farmers and producers sharing the history and flavors of their products, while live music, including performances by singer Andri Karantoni and a band, highlights Greek and Cypriot cultural traditions. Entrance is €10, with children under 15 admitted free.
This annual celebration draws attention to Cyprus’ rural villages in August, as quieter cities make way for visitors eager to explore cultural events and local delicacies in tranquil settings.
