Cyprus Police Report 1,457 Speeding Violations During European ROADPOL Campaign
The Cyprus Police participated in the pan-European ROADPOL speed control campaign from August 3 to 9, targeting excessive speeding and dangerous driving behaviors across the island. During the campaign, authorities conducted intensive speed checks throughout the road network to prevent traffic accidents and improve road safety.
In addition to 1,457 speeding violations, police also reported other serious traffic offenses including driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to use seat belts, and not wearing helmets. These violations directly affect road safety and were actively monitored and addressed as part of the campaign.
The Cyprus Police continue daily traffic enforcement operations nationwide to promote safer driving habits and reduce road accidents, aiming to protect all road users.
