National Bank of Greece completes first tranche of share buyback programme acquiring 650,000 shares
The National Bank of Greece has successfully acquired 650,000 of its own ordinary shares as part of the first tranche of its approved buyback programme between July 31 and August 7, 2026. The shares were purchased at a weighted average price of €16.4078 each, totaling €10.67 million. This move follows shareholder approvals and regulatory clearance from the European Central Bank.
The repurchases were conducted over several days, with daily acquisitions ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 shares. After completing this tranche, the bank now holds 23,873,717 treasury shares, representing 2.61% of its total share capital. The bank plans to cancel the repurchased shares within the legally prescribed timeframe, in accordance with resolutions from its April general meeting.
