New Cultural Diplomacy Research Office Established at Cyprus Academy of Sciences
The Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts has announced the establishment of a new cultural diplomacy research office aimed at advancing cultural diplomacy, international cultural relations, and cultural policy. Marios Ioannou Elia has been appointed as the head of the office, with a mission to connect research with diplomacy and foster Cyprus' presence in global cultural networks.
The office will collaborate with universities, research centres, cultural organizations, and international agencies, as well as key governmental bodies such as the presidency, foreign ministry, and deputy culture ministry. It plans to carry out scientific studies, host events like conferences and exhibitions, publish research, and participate in international programs to support cultural diplomacy and intercultural dialogue.
Through these efforts, the office seeks to promote Cyprus’ rich cultural heritage alongside its contemporary intellectual and artistic achievements, thereby enhancing the island's cultural profile internationally.
