Apollon eliminated from Conference League after 4-2 extra-time defeat to Brann
Apollon Limassol was knocked out of the Conference League following a 4-2 extra-time loss to Norwegian side Brann at the Alphamega Stadium in Limassol. Despite holding a winning advantage from the first leg, Apollon was unable to maintain their lead as Brann overturned the aggregate score.
Brann took an early lead through Ingason in the 16th minute before Apollon's Ljubitz equalized in the 85th minute. Holm then scored in the sixth minute of injury time, pushing the game into extra time. Apollon’s Weisbeck swiftly restored parity, but Brann responded with two goals from Holm and Eriksen in the 94th and 105th minutes respectively, sealing their progression.
The defeat ended Apollon’s European journey at the third qualifying round, with Brann moving on to the next stage of the Conference League.
