Jumbo Retail Sees Strong Sales Growth in Cyprus and Bulgaria in July 2026
Greek retail group Jumbo reported a 14% year-on-year sales increase in Cyprus in July 2026, contributing to a 6% growth for the first seven months of the year, outperforming the group-wide average. Overall, Jumbo's July sales rose by 9% across all markets, aligning the group's performance with management expectations and supporting a forecasted full-year sales growth of about 5%.
Bulgaria recorded the strongest July growth with a 21% increase in sales through both physical stores and e-commerce. Greece also saw solid growth, with net sales up by approximately 10% in July. However, Romania experienced a sales decline of about 3% in July, attributed to fiscal tightening and weak consumer demand.
Despite challenges, including new EU customs duties on imports, Jumbo continues its expansion, opening its eighth store in Israel and planning its first Canadian store by year-end. Management highlighted resilience in consumer confidence and maintained a net profit forecast between €310 million and €320 million for the year.
