Cyprus repatriates 119 illegal residents in one week as part of ongoing immigration crackdown

Last week, Cyprus repatriated 119 foreign nationals residing illegally, continuing its focused efforts against illegal immigration. This initiative involves police, the Aliens and Immigration Unit, and the Deputy Ministry of Migration working collaboratively to enforce immigration laws.

Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 5,288 illegal residents have been returned to their countries of origin through voluntary and forced procedures. Authorities also report 856 irregular migrant arrivals so far this year, a decrease compared to 1,299 during the same period in 2025.

Law enforcement emphasizes their commitment to intensifying repatriation measures for third-country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus, maintaining close coordination with relevant agencies to uphold national immigration policies.
