Cyprus launches €20 million energy efficiency grant scheme for homeowners starting October 20
The Cyprus government will open applications on October 20 for a new €20 million grant scheme offering up to €32,000 to homeowners for energy efficiency upgrades. The 2026 Save and Upgrade Homes scheme, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, aims to help households achieve significant primary energy savings of at least 60 percent.
Eligible applicants must own properties with an Electricity Authority of Cyprus domestic account and homes connected to the electricity network before 2008 or with permits before December 2007. The scheme supports measures such as thermal insulation, solar water heaters, efficient air conditioning, and photovoltaic systems.
Applications will be accepted online on a first-come, first-served basis until December 30, 2026, or until funds run out. Homeowners must obtain a recent Energy Performance Certificate to apply, and grants vary depending on the level of energy savings and building standards met. Additional funds are available for vulnerable groups and specific property locations.
