Cyprus Industrial Output Prices Rise 4.2% Year-on-Year in August 2026
Cyprus industrial output prices increased by 4.2 percent in August 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the statistical service (Cystat). The industrial price index reached 127.9 units, marking a 0.2 percent rise from July 2026 and a 1.6 percent growth for the first eight months of 2026 compared to 2025. The strongest monthly increase was recorded in the water supply and materials recovery sector, which rose by 1.1 percent.
On an annual basis, electricity supply prices led the rises with an 11.6 percent jump, followed by water supply and materials recovery at 8.5 percent. Manufacturing prices increased 2.2 percent year-on-year, while mining and quarrying saw a modest 0.8 percent growth. Local market prices rose by 4.2 percent annually, and export prices increased by 3.6 percent.
Among manufacturing divisions, electronic, optical, and electrical equipment prices showed the largest annual increase of 11.4 percent. Other sectors such as basic metals, furniture, and machinery repair also recorded notable price growth. Over the January-to-August period, manufacturing prices showed steady increases, with electronic and electrical goods rising 7.3 percent, underscoring ongoing inflationary trends in Cyprus's industrial sector.
